A G R E E M E N T
On educational and scientific cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the State of Kuwait
The Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the State of Kuwait, hereinafter referred to as the Parties,
willing to progress and strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries as well as develop and the cooperation in the field of science and education,
have agreed on the following:
Article 1
The Parties will cooperate in the field of science and education in accordance with national legislation and accepted norms of international law.
Article 2
The Parties will establish and develop direct ties between the secondary, middle, higher education and research institutions and institutes in their countries.
Article 3
The Parties shall encourage the cooperation between their National Commissions for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), with the exchange of information and documents related to UNESCO's programmes, as well as the research programmes that are organized in both their countries
Article 4
The Parties will carry out mutual exchanges of scientists, professors, teachers, students and pupils for the purpose of mutual acquaintance with scientific and educational experience and achievements of their institutions.
Article 5
The responsible ministries for the cooperation within this Agreement by the Armenian side will be the Ministry of Education and Science and by the Kuwait side will be the Ministry of Education.
Article 6
In order to develop and extend the scientific cooperation, the Parties will elaborate and carry out research programs and projects as well as exchange the achieved results, scientific and educational information.
Article 7
On mutual agreement the Parties will agree to negotiate and to sign agreement on equalization of the educational certificates, scientific degrees and academic titles according to the legislation of each country.
Article 8
The Parties will provide mutual assistance in education and science related issues in the international organizations where they are involved.
Article 9
The Parties will contribute to the study and teaching of the language, literature, history and culture of the partner country in their educational institutions as well as support the exchange of the specialists, methodological manuals, text books.
Article 10
The Parties will encourage the cooperation between the pupils and student organizations as well as young scientists of the both countries with the purpose of strengthening and extending the scientists and educational ties between the youth.
Article 11
To implement the present Agreement the Parties will elaborate and run corresponding working programs.
Article 12
Any amendment or change can be made to this Agreement. Amendments and changes shall be compiled as separate protocols, which shall be an integral part of this Agreement and shall enter into force according to the procedure of entry into force of this Agreement.
Article 13
Any disputes which can arise between the Parties on the implementation of this Agreement will be solved through consultations and negotiations.
Article 14
This Agreement will come into force on the date when the Parties have notified each other about completion of the internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of this Agreement.
This Agreement will be valid for five years. Its validity will be automatically extended for an additional period of five years, unless either of the Parties notifies the other in writing six months prior the expiration date of this Agreement of its intention to terminate this Agreement.
Done in Kuwait City, on 3 November 2009, corresponded in thulqida 15 of 1430H., of in two original copies, each of them in Armenian, Arabic and English languages, all texts being equally authentic.
In case of divergence in interpretation the English text shall prevail.
The Agreement has entered into force on 02.12.2012
